Her novel Annabel was published in 2010, and won the Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award. It was a shortlisted nominee for the Scotiabank Giller Prize,^[4] the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize and the 2010 Governor General's Awards.^[5] It held the distinction of being the only novel to make the short list of all three awards in 2010.^[5] In 2011 it was shortlisted for the 2011 Orange Prize for Fiction.^[6]

Shanneyganock is folk-based band from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Loosely translated from Gaelic, their name means "creature of the night". Their music is heavily Irish/Celtic influenced. Shanneyganock has released their 8th album "Live on George Street" and a DVD is also available.
